The city of Cape Town, in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology (DST), will host the inaugural Africa Tech Week that will introduce African small businesses to digital solutions and future business strategies and development.
Digital Transformation requires cooperation between companies, government and civil society and Africa Tech Week creates a unique platform for exactly this.
The event, which will take place in Century City from March 4 to 5, will promote Digital Transformation by connecting government, corporates and fresh talent in the tech industry.
The objective of Africa Tech Week is to accelerate inclusive regional growth that benefits all – a fundamental element of any modern strategy to develop democracy and social cohesion.
There will be over 200 decision makers and businesses attending, as well as 350 conference delegates and 30 world class speakers.
One of the keynote speakers will be Salim Ismail, a best-selling author of Exponential Organizations, a sought-after business strategist, and a serial entrepreneur having founded technology companies including Confabb, PubSub Concepts, and Ångströ, which was acquired by Google in 2010. He led Brickhouse, Yahoo!’s internal incubator, and was recently named an XPRIZE Foundation Board member.
