Egypt’s Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC) of ITIDA, in collaboration with Huawei, has announced the official launch of the ‘Egypt App Cup’ competition to offer university students and fresh graduates new opportunities to unleash their creativity and develop innovation skills in the technology field.
The competition, which is part of Huawei’s ‘Shining Star’ programme, aims at supporting Egyptian youths in gaining experience and vast ICT knowledge. It will also participants to engage in developing innovative mobile-based solutions and android applications that support transportation, health, and tourism sectors.
“Egypt App Cup competition seeks to tremendously impact our youth’s future, as it opens up a path of promising opportunities,” said Hossam Othman, TIEC Chairperson and ITIDA VP.
“It aims at nurturing the young minds, boosting their creativity, and enriching their knowledge. This initiative also supports and meets our primary goals of developing the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem in Egypt along with our mandate of building the capacities of young calibers on the latest ICT technologies.” said Hossam Othman, TIEC Chairperson and ITIDA VP.
Adam Xiao Ersong, Manager Director of MENA Mobile Services, Huawei Consumer Business Group, added: “Through the App Cup competition, Huawei grants Egyptian youth access to greater capabilities and a wider array of developer services in recognition of Egypt’s potential as a growing market especially in the technology sector.”
