Daikin opens new training facility in Côte d’Ivoire

Daikin Middle East and Africa FZE (Daikin), a leading manufacturer of air conditioning, heating, ventilation and refrigeration solutions, has announced the opening of its new training facility in Côte d’Ivoire.

This initiative underscores Daikin’s commitment to nurturing local talent and enhancing technical expertise in the HVAC sector across the region. The inauguration ceremony took place in the presence of Robert Beugré Mambé, Prime Minister of Côte d’Ivoire, Koffi N’Guessan, Minister of Technical Education of Côte d’Ivoire and the Ambassador of Japan to Côte d’Ivoire, among others.

The center, born from the collaboration between Daikin and the Ministry of Technical Education, Vocational Training and Apprenticeship of Côte d’Ivoire, aims to address the issue of aligning training with employment, ensuring successful job placement for young technicians.

Located in Abidjan, the state-of-the-art facility is designed to provide comprehensive training programs aimed at equipping professionals with the skills and knowledge essential for advancing the HVAC industry.

Through this investment, Daikin aims to support economic development in Côte d’Ivoire by empowering local workforce capabilities and promoting sustainable business practices.

“We are excited to inaugurate our new training facility in Côte d’Ivoire,” said Sami Monastiriotis, Africa Sales Manager at Daikin Middle East and Africa. “In over 30 countries, Daikin has a dedicated mission in Africa: to create a positive impact on the continent through our solutions, services and core values. Our ambitions include gaining market leadership, upskilling local talent, expanding our presence and advocating for environmental stewardship. This initiative aligns with our long-term vision to cultivate a skilled workforce and contribute to the growth of the HVAC industry in the region. Through world-class training programs, we aim to empower individuals with the expertise to deliver exceptional service and drive innovation.”

The training programs at the facility will cover a wide range of technical disciplines, including installation techniques, maintenance procedures and the latest advancements in HVAC technology. Participants will have access to hands-on training sessions led by experienced instructors, as well as educational resources tailored to meet industry standards.

Koffi N’Guessan, Minister of Technical Education of Côte d’Ivoire, said: “This project could not have come into being without Daikin’s commitment, as they have also established similar centers in other African countries. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the representatives of Daikin for their effective presence and for the trust they have placed in our country through the METFPA.”

In addition to enhancing technical competencies, Daikin’s new facility underscores its commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship. The company remains dedicated to promoting energy-efficient solutions that minimise environmental impact and support sustainable development goals in Côte d’Ivoire.

As Daikin continues to expand its presence in the region, the new training facility represents a significant milestone in its efforts to build stronger partnerships with local stakeholders and contribute to the socio-economic progress of Côte d’Ivoire.
