Siemon, a global networking infrastructure specialist, recently teamed up with its longstanding distribution partner, Mart Network Solutions, to host an installation partner event at Kenya’s Maasai Mara National Reserve. It took place in November and provided an opportunity for both companies to thank and reward all of their channel partners for their continual hard work and give them an opportunity to find out more about Siemon’s cutting edge solutions in a relaxed and fun-filled environment.
The Maasai Mara National Reserve is known as the eighth wonder of the world due to the annual wildebeest migration that takes place between this location and Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park. It is also home to lions, leopards, cheetahs, zebra and gazelles, as well as some of the most stunning scenery in the whole of Africa, which draws thousands of visitors each year.
Over 24 individuals representing nine installation partners from across the African continent made the trip to the Maasai Mara National Reserve. The three-day event took place at the world-renowned Sarova Mara Game Camp hotel, which is surrounded by two streams and features exotic trees, a large fishpond and a Maasai village adjoining the camp.
Siemon and Mart Network Solutions guests were treated to a packed itinerary including a conference, awards ceremony and early morning safaris known as game drives. Bush dinners were also held to provide the unique experience of eating in a remote and wild setting, while Maasai people performed a series of cultural dances next to a bonfire. In addition, there were a number of exciting team building activities for guests to participate in and enjoy.
The event celebrated the success that Siemon and its channel partners are enjoying in Africa. This is set to continue during 2017, as the continent’s datacentre sector is experiencing tremendous growth in a short period of time.
In 2015, The African Datacentre Rises report found that colocation demand across the continent is increasing two to three times faster than supply and its datacentre market is critical to the integration of the continent into global networks.
Iyer Sivakumar, Siemon’s Sales Manager for Africa, commented, “Our partners are integral to our success and work incredibly hard to ensure that end users enjoy the benefits of our state-of-the-art datacentre and intelligent building solutions. Our time at the Maasai Mara National Reserve was one that we will all remember for many years, thanks to the exceptional planning and support from Mart Network Solutions.”
