Avature announces release of Junction, its Data Exchange Services Module

Avature, a provider of innovative Human Capital Management (HCM) solutions today announced the release of its Data Exchange Services module, called Junction. Junction is an enterprise service bus (ESB) that facilitates transferring data in and out of the Avature platform using application programming interfaces (APIs) such as REST and SOAP. Junction lets business analysts and other non-technical users set up and manage endpoints for easy integration with third-party systems. The “pluggable” nature of Junction’s custom endpoints, combined with Avature’s fully extensible data model and configurable workflows, will introduce a new dimension to Avature’s flexibility.

“Typical APIs for enterprise systems are very complex,” said Dimitri Boylan, CEO of Avature, “particularly for IT departments or other vendors that are not users of the system they are connecting to. With Junction’s custom endpoints, we allow user-administrators to easily control what part of Avature’s data model is exposed to a third party, either via a workflow or some other business logic. This allows the people with the best understanding of the system’s configuration to focus on sharing the correct information and worrying less about permissions, access levels, and other technical details that define the what and when of data movement.”

“With this new module, we are freeing up the HR supply chain for our customers,” said Roman Cunci, Avature’s Technical Services Manager for Asia. “They can easily define a set of custom endpoints that can be enabled and disabled for any combination of third-party vendors with a single click. And we believe that the combination of Junction with Avature’s customisable data model will set a new standard for core platforms – where the main goal is to centralise all the data from multiple systems.

Junction is expected to move to Beta before the end of the year and then be made generally available to all customers in the first quarter of 2018. Avature will introduce a Catalogue Service to Junction in the second quarter of 2018 that will allow third parties to maintain off-the-shelf integrations that any Avature customer can activate.
