ENAIRE partners with Unisys to deliver enhanced customer service

Unisys Corporation (NYSE: UIS) today announced a new contract with ENAIRE, the national air navigation service provider of Spain, to provide a package of services, including corporate applications development and employee mobile enablement, designed to enable the company to deliver enhanced customer service supporting more than 200 million passengers annually.

Unisys will support a key foundation of ENAIRE’s digital transformation effort by developing and maintaining all corporate applications and managing service delivery to Android and iOS mobile users for connectivity to key applications and data via mobile phone or tablet. ENAIRE will also rely on Unisys’ expertise in SAP and additional application support for Java J2EE, .NET and Oracle to ensure its enterprise management systems are maintained and developed to meet future demands.

Additionally, Unisys will help ENAIRE with new development projects, including the creation of a tool designed to help consolidate air traffic controller data and the creation of a new application to manage customer care and support. As a result, ENAIRE employees will be able to deliver better customer service through improved connectivity and streamlined access to critical applications, internal portals and dashboards.

“ENAIRE has a huge task managing flights across Europe and the Americas. To do that it needs solutions and technology experts with a deep understanding of the air traffic industry,” said Dheeraj Kohli, vice president and global head of Travel and Transportation for Unisys. “Most people today understand that mobile enablement and innovative applications represent a faster, more efficient way to do business. More importantly, when business-led applications are developed and supported efficiently, they represent a true way for organisations to differentiate themselves from the competition. We are proud to be managing these critical applications for ENAIRE and serve as their partners for digital transformation.”

The new contract enables ENAIRE to leverage Unisys’ deep experience in application development and support in the travel and transportation domain. The company has more than 45 years of experience providing advanced, critical IT solutions to the travel and transportation industry. More than 100 airports worldwide and 21 of the top 25 global airlines depend on Unisys solutions.

ENAIRE’s air transit services span the Iberian Peninsula, as well as the Canary and Balearic Islands, part of the North Atlantic, Western Mediterranean and Western Sahara. Its five control centres and 22 control towers manage close to 1.8 million flights a year, which make it one of the top four largest flight navigation managers in Europe. ENAIRE is also the world’s leading flight navigation manager in terms of foot traffic, serving approximately 230 million passengers last year.
