eCOMM expands offering with provision of payment terminals

eCOMM Merchant Solutions have confirmed their plans to compete in the European market for card acquiring services. Founded by Irish entrepreneur Noel Moran in 2014, the company has announced that it is now licensed right across Europe as a provider of card acquiring services.

eCOMM can provide all types of businesses with payment terminals and support services to allow acceptance of VISA and Mastercard payments. The company has already commenced point of sale (POS) terminal processing in Ireland and is licensed to transact in 35 countries across Europe. Plans are already in place to expand operations to the UK, Spain and Greece, followed by the rest of Europe.

Headquartered in Navan, Co. Meath, the company now employs in excess of 80 staff and is currently looking to fill an additional 20 vacancies. Commenting on the announcement, founder and CEO Noel Moran said, “Since the outset, we have been providing our customers with the ability to transact online with our eCommerce service. It is a natural progression for us to add Point of Sale, i.e. terminals and related services, to our line-up.”

The worldwide payments market is undergoing a period of rapid change, driven by a wave of new technologies and impending deregulation under the Payment Services Directive 2. eCOMM sees itself very much at the forefront of the new breed of ‘FinTech’ companies. Moran added, “Our customers care about having competitive rates and a hassle-free experience. What sets us apart is that we do all the back-end services ourselves, such as acquiring, processing and gateway provision. With fewer third party providers in the loop, we can afford to pass on the cost saving.”

eCOMM already supports Android, Apple and Samsung Pay, but it also brings a more unique offering to the market in the form of the Alipay merchant solution. Alipay was established by the Alibaba Group in China and is now one of the world’s largest mobile payment platforms. With the value of Chinese tourism to Europe on the rise, eCOMM sees its ability to connect merchants with Alipay as being of growing importance.

As business accelerates, eCOMM is actively engaging with businesses across Europe about its one-stop solution.
