Standard Chartered announced it will open a new office in Warsaw, Poland, following appropriate approvals.
Standard Chartered Global Business Services Sp z o.o. will contain the bank’s Global Business Services (GBS) function and joins a network of GBS centres in China, India and Malaysia, all of which manage complex, large-scale, cross-border activities including technology and finance services, cybersecurity and banking operations.
The Bank also announced that Rowena Everson has been appointed as CEO Standard Chartered Global Business Services Sp z o.o. from her current role as Managing Director, Head of Business Support, Risk and Governance – Europe.
Speaking about the new centre, Stephen Sheridan, COO, Europe & Americas, said: “We’re pleased to have submitted our application to open a new, highly skilled service centre in Poland. As the bank increases its focus on clients based in Europe and the Americas, we believe it has become essential to create a western hub that can support them fully in a more beneficial time zone.”
