Toys ‘R’ Us Spain and Portugal puts trust in Openbravo’s omnichannel technology

Toys ‘R’ Us Spain and Portugal puts its trust in the omnichannel technology of Openbravo, a global provider for a cloud-based omnichannel platform that improves user experience and enables more agile and innovative retail.

After a four-month implementation period, the toy company now trusts this new software – Openbravo Commerce Cloud – in all its stores, enabling the company to reduce IT costs and move more rapidly to omnichannel retail.

In this way, the company continues to strengthen its commitment to the technology after the launch of its new e-Commerce site, which, in addition to improving customer experience through a cleaner, more functional and faster design, includes services such as Click and Collect and home delivery of toys in stock in just three hours.

Paulo Sousa Marquez, CEO of Toys ‘R’ Us Iberia, said: “Now that this technology has been implemented in all our stores, we are impressed with the capacity of the Openbravo POS, which has allowed us to greatly simplify our processes. This has been key for enabling us to make all our stores operational in just four months.”

Marco de Vries, CEO of Openbravo, said: “The speed with which we were able to incorporate our technology in all Toys ‘R’ Us stores in Spain and Portugal is proof of how Openbravo’s cloud-based platform gives retailers the agility they need to compete in the retail industry which is constantly evolving.”

With a new motto, ‘Forbidden NOT to touch!’, Toys ‘R’ Us Spain and Portugal moves ahead with this new chapter where its stores evolve towards more visual and experiential spaces that encourage children to feel and test the toys on display, play with them and enjoy them in various play areas.

The company has adapted to the changing demands and tastes of consumers in order to reach new audiences and maintain its position as a specialist in childcare and childcare products. To this end, the company has also been able to introduce services such as the Academy space, the celebration of birthday parties in stores, the ‘Meet and Greets’ with Youtubers, and the launch of the brand’s YouTube channel to truly stand out from the competition.
