Telefónica Tech has extended its partnership with a leading cybersecurity and compliance company, Proofpoint, to launch Clean Email Business in the Spanish market, a next-generation security service aimed at helping medium-sized companies protect their corporate email and promote regulatory compliance and ongoing Business Continuity.
Clean Email Business is a managed security service delivered from the cloud that provides high levels of protection to reinforce the cyber-resilience of companies, thanks to Proofpoint’s advanced technology and the support and operation provided by the highly qualified team of Telefónica Tech’s Security Operations Centers (SOC).
The Clean Email Business service includes spam filtering, analysis of attachments and malicious URLs, as well as protection against threat and Business Emails Compromise (BEC) attacks. BEC attacks are mainly characterised by cybercriminals impersonating a senior manager to access critical information or steal company funds.
The service also provides threat intelligence through the mass scanning of daily messages and promotes business continuity 24/7, as well as regulatory compliance by protecting against information leakage through encryption techniques.
Telefónica Tech’s SOCs professionals provide their knowledge and experience in the resolution of all types of incidents, including the most critical ones that have the capacity to stop even businesses, offering companies 24/7 support via the web or by telephone.
“Corporate email is one of the main entry points for cybercriminals to attack companies and gain access to sensitive information that can even shut down a business,” said Alberto Sempere, Director of Cyber Security Products and Services at Telefónica Tech. “The Clean Email Business service, which is now being marketed in Spain and will soon be marketed in other countries, will contribute to the secure Digital Transformation of SMEs thanks to Proofpoint’s innovative technology and the management and support offered by our SOC experts to monitor and resolve incidents in the most efficient way”.
Fernando Anaya, Country Manager for Iberia at Proofpoint, added: “Email fraud remains one of the top business risks for organisations. In fact, our data shows that 90% of Spanish organisations reported an attempted Business Email Compromise attack last year. Our expanded partnership with Telefónica Tech will enable businesses in Spain to better protect their email channels, blocking threats from reaching users in the first instance with modern email security.”
This new alliance strengthens the relationship between the two companies in terms of security and allows Telefónica Tech to expand its portfolio of managed corporate email protection services with a value proposition aimed at medium-sized companies, through Clean Email Business and large companies through the Clean Email Enterprise service launched last year.
