Puma Energy is a leading global energy downstream retailer providing fuels, aviation lubricants and bitumen to a network of more than 1,970 retail sites and serves more than 115 airports and airfields around the world.
The company joined forces with Kissflow in 2019 to leverage the power of a low-code automation platform in helping them digitally transform their businesses. Since implementation, Puma Energy has witnessed significant improvements in how efficiently operations are carried out.
Puma Energy is a Swiss multinational mid- and downstream oil company, majority-owned by Singapore-based Swiss company Trafigura. Puma Energy’s operations span around 37 countries and encompass the supply, storage, refining, distribution and retail of a range of petroleum products.
The oil and gas industry is heavily dependent on legacy systems and has numerous challenges. Some of these include – regulatory compliance, supply chain infrastructure, legacy infrastructure, data management, change management, scale and complexity among others. In addition to these challenges, there are several technological and network hassles too. Incidentally, most of the countries operated in, do not have good 3G connectivity, as well.
Puma Energy partnered with Kissflow right before the pandemic hit the world. Owing to traditional practices followed in the oil and gas industry, several operational challenges remained unmet. Additionally, delays in paperwork and other structural issues increased owing to the work-from-home structure.
What began as a 200-user pilot, gained momentum quickly with additional teams and processes. The need for digital collaboration or orchestration became apparent as businesses went remote. What helped the teams at Puma was that Kissflow was an easy and simple-to-use low-code platform that could scale quickly.
Puma Energy leverages Kissflow in:
- Digitizing paper processes
- Enhancing collaboration across the organization
- Efficient time management
- Change management
Through this partnership with Kissflow, Puma has been able to set up necessary, streamlined processes, measure tasks and address issues right away.
Tanay Tiwary, Global Head – Digitization and Business Improvement at Puma Energy, said: “At Puma Energy, we are committed to doubling down on Digital Transformation. Ensuring that our processes are streamlined and uniform across all countries and managing compliance norms of each region while ensuring no business disruptions is paramount to us.
“In this endeavor, we found Kissflow’s user-friendly advanced low-code platform to be instrumental in enabling us to manage the longtail process and app requirements efficiently and effectively.”
Puma Energy is also betting big on enabling individuals within Puma to become adept at using technology for problem-solving.
Suresh Sambandam, CEO – Kissflow, said: “It’s truly exciting for us to witness how Puma Energy is leading the way in Digital Transformation within the oil and gas industry. We are happy to play a key role in supporting Puma Energy with a low-code platform that enables them to solve the middle office business operations while enabling a governed citizen development program, across the organisation.”
