Major UK housing association moves core business operations to OCI to boost agility, reduce operational costs and support growth.
Oracle has announced that Home Group, one of the UK’s largest housing associations, is using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) to run its core back-office systems.
Home Group selected OCI for its superior performance, high availability and enterprise security, which enables the charity to scale its operations apace with its significant growth.
In addition, running on OCI provides Home Group with operational cost savings that allow it to focus its resources on providing housing for those most in need.
Home Group provides integrated housing, health and social care services across England and Scotland, supporting 125,000 customers in more than 56,000 homes. To improve operations and better serve its customers, the organisation has now deployed its core finance, planning, HR and procurement systems on OCI.
Through its migration to OCI, Home Group gained access to flexible, secure and high-performance computing resources not previously available with its on-premises systems, which enabled it to improve data and infrastructure security.
By improving the performance of its business applications, including payroll and financial reporting, Home Group significantly reduced operational costs and increased IT efficiency and sustainability.
Simon Parker, Director of IS for Home Group, said: “Our focus at Home Group has always been on building homes, independence and aspirations to make a real difference in people’s lives, especially in times of economic uncertainty.
“Migrating our business platform to OCI provides us with the cloud performance, security, availability and cost efficiencies that enable us to reinvest our capital where it is needed the most to support our customers and their communities.”
“The not-for-profit sector in the UK is accelerating its adoption of cloud technologies at a rapid rate,” said Nick Wallace, Vice President, Cloud Sales, UK, Oracle. “Home Group is one of the organisations at the forefront of this change, and we are bringing the power and flexibility of OCI to support them as they scale their operations at a time of high demand for their services.”
