IONOS, a leading European digitalisation partner for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) and trusted cloud enabler, has launched a new public cloud location at its Worcester data centre, offering businesses expanded infrastructure options.
According to IDC, worldwide spending on public cloud services is set to double by 2028, driven by rapid advancements in AI development and deployment, and the demand for cost-effective, managed cloud services.
Up to now, the IONOS Worcester data centre, located at Worcester Six Business Park, hosted server products, private cloud powered by VMware and virtual private servers (VPS), while public cloud products were hosted at IONOS’ London data centre.
As the demand for public cloud has increased, UK SMBs can access IONOS’ GDPR-compliant public cloud services from an environmentally friendly location. IONOS Public Cloud products include:
- Compute Engine – flexible Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) for professional cloud computing
- Cloud Cubes – a fast and affordable way to build cloud infrastructure
- IONOS Object Storage – scalable storage for large data volumes
- Managed Kubernetes – to securely orchestrate container workloads
The Worcester data centre is IONOS’ most modern, environmentally friendly data centre to date, with a wide range of sustainable and energy-efficient features, including solar photovoltaic panels. It is certified with Tier-IV Classification, ensuring the highest level of reliability and security. It also holds ISO/IEC 27001 certification for information security management and ISO/IEC 50001 certification for energy management.
It is represented by the IATA code BHX, acknowledging its convenient proximity to Birmingham International Airport.
