Ostron launches center of excellence focused on protecting company data

With support from Intel, Ostron, a Brazilian data lifecycle protection security company, has created a center of excellence to bring more security to corporate and government data centers.

The center will act as a technology partner for the customer, delivering solutions, training, testing, infrastructure efficiency, greater ability to generate improvement insights, as well as ensuring greater data protection.

Inside the center, companies will be able to make the most of Intel Software Guard Extensions (SGX), available for the scalable third-generation Intel Xeon processor. Intel SGX is a technology that allows you to encrypt data in real time in the server’s RAM memory, where code can be run securely, that is, even if intruders take the data, it will be encrypted and therefore unreadable.

André Ribeiro, Director of New Business, Intel, said: “Intel SGX gives organizations the ability to use hardware-based controls when protecting data. More specifically, it provides hardware-based memory encryption that helps isolate application-specific code and data in memory.”

With hundreds of research studies and deployments in production, in addition to being continuously improved over time, the Intel SGX helps protect sensitive code and data with the smallest potential attack surface in data center systems and is available on scalable 3rd Generation Intel Xeon processors with up to 1TB of capacity for code and data.
