The National Telecommunications Program (Pronatel) has started rolling out the availability of Internet connected Digital Access Centers (CAD) in Peru.
It has started the project in Lambayeque and is also providing 34 Public Spaces in Acceso Digital (EPAD) in the city of Cusco.
Pronatel is doing this with the aim of achieving a country of better digitally connected and trained citizens.
CADs are public premises furnished with computers, tablets, televisions and desks that have Internet access and that also serve as training centers to access digital courses as well as providing the ability to request support in virtual procedures.
EPADs are places with free WiFi digital access for citizens, who can connect in parks and public squares.
In this way, Pronatel continues to contribute to the development of digital skills in rural areas. In the case of Lambayeque, 30,000 citizens from 11 districts will benefit with an investment of Sol 3,906,247.
The 34 EPADs being implemented in the Cusco region will benefit more than 36,000 people, including citizens and visitors, who will be able to benefit from speeds of up to 20 Mbps in public squares.
These EPADs will be located in 34 rural localities of the 11 provinces of the region and see an investment of Sol 8,839,000.
