Blockbit announces news on its cybersecurity platform

Blockbit, a Brazilian company specializing in the cybersecurity market, has announced news on its global cybersecurity platform, with new advanced features for threat identification, mitigation and prevention.

The new version of the Blockbit Platform now includes functionalities such as DNS Content Filtering and AP Mode Wireless Support to maximize digital data and system protection for businesses of all sizes and industries, whether on local or cloud networks.

Through DNS Content Filtering, companies have a tool that controls and filters access to specific Internet content, blocking malicious, dangerous, or inappropriate websites.

Filtering rules are pre-configured by clients on the platform, determining which sites employees connected to corporate networks cannot access, such as social media or gambling portals.

This way, it is possible to reduce the risks associated with Internet browsing to keep business data secure.

Lucas Pereira, Director of Products, Blockbit, said: “The main goal of Blockbit is to enhance the security of users and companies, mitigating threats from reaching network endpoints. DNS content filtering helps protect companies from increasingly common cyber threats such as malware, ransomware and phishing.”

According to the Director, DNS Content Filtering also enables better compliance with corporate access policies. “This is especially important in sectors with strict regulatory requirements, such as healthcare and finance where data leaks can mean the end of confidentiality for sensitive customer and business information,” added Pereira.

Another innovation of the Blockbit Platform is AP Mode Wireless Support, which allows the installation of a Wi-Fi network without the need for an external router. By using the Blockbit Platform’s hardware alone, companies can receive the network signal (wired or wireless) and make it available to other devices.

“With AP Mode Wireless Support, Blockbit’s hardware creates a local wireless network (LAN) that acts as a central point to connect other wireless devices within the company with high speed and availability,” said Pereira.

Updates to the Blockbit Platform are ongoing to keep customers aligned with the latest advancements in cybersecurity. The new version of the platform also introduces other important features. Firewall and Web Filter configurations, for example, have received performance optimization options.

The same platform already includes Blockbit Cloud Sandbox, a next-generation tool that automatically analyzes all types of logs and programs in search of suspicious or malicious points – even the newest ones.

Developed by experts at Blockbit Labs, Blockbit’s high-performance laboratory, the feature combines concepts such as Big Data and Machine Learning to perform tests and broadly classify threats before they even reach users’ networks. These measures are important to keep up with the progressive sophistication of malware and successfully detect them, adding a layer of threat protection beyond the environment’s perimeter.
