In line with its sustainable commitment and aligned with its ESG policies, the Brazilian company Maxtrack, a leading technology provider for passenger and cargo tracking in Latin America, has launched the Carbon Zero project to offset carbon emissions from its monitored road transportation fleets.
In partnership with the Uaimií Institute, a laboratory for experiences in the recovery of degraded areas and environmental preservation, the project will work on creating a carbon offset flow through the planting of native trees.
The initiative will be developed according to a schedule, considering the implementation and operation of transportation, monitoring and intelligence, planting and monitoring of the areas, ensuring carbon reduction or offset goals alongside the fleets.
Fuel consumption measurement, CO² emissions, and other carbon calculations across the entire fleet are carried out by Maxtrack’s technology, which utilizes Artificial Intelligence (AI) to make driver behavior more efficient and sustainable.
With the savings generated, participating transport companies will be able to offset the polluting gases emitted during operations by planting seedlings in designated preservation areas in partnership with Uaimií, located in Ouro Preto, Minas Gerais.
