Rio de Janeiro hosts FII PRIORITY Summit with the theme ‘Investing with Dignity’

For the first time in Latin America, the event will bring together leaders, authorities and experts from around the world to discuss urgent topics for sustainable development.

For the first time, Rio de Janeiro will host the FII PRIORITY Summit, a gathering of leaders and executives from around the world to discuss investment opportunities that promote sustainable growth for countries.

The event is organised by the Future Investment Initiative Institute (FII Institute), a non-profit entity funded by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), which manages US$925 billion in investments.

This marks the first time the institute is hosting an event in Latin America, and the chosen venue is the Copacabana Palace. From June 11 to 13, it will gather more than 150 speakers in 44 sessions, with an audience of over a thousand guests.

Held under the theme ‘Investing with Dignity’, the summit will explore investment alternatives in energy transition, sustainability, technological and innovation advancements, and social inclusion. These topics are crucial for building a new global order that prioritises dignity for all. The event also aims to strengthen relations between Brazil and Saudi Arabia, boost investments and position the country as a hub for sustainable ideas and initiatives deserving of global investment.

Key speakers include Princess Reema Bint Bandar Al Saud, Saudi Ambassador to the US, Prince Faisal Bin Bandar Al Saud, President of the Saudi Esports Federation, Yasir Al-Rumayyan, Governor of the Public Investment Fund (PIF) and Chairman of the FII Institute, Mike Pompeo, former US Secretary of State and former presidents Felipe Calderón (Mexico), Juan Manuel Santos (Colombia), Jorge Quiroga (Bolivia) and Laura Chinchilla (Costa Rica).

The event will also feature renowned executives, investment experts and government officials such as Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih, Saudi Minister of Investment, Baronesa Ariane de Rothschild, CEO of Edmond de Rothschild Holding, Gustavo Manrique, Former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Former Minister of Environment of Ecuador, Sir Martin Sorrell, Executive Chairman of S4 Capital Group, André Esteves, Chairman of BTG Pactual, Marcelo Claure, Founder and CEO of Claure Group, Bernard Mensah, International President of Bank of America, Aloizio Mercadante, President of BNDES, Eduardo Bartolomeo, CEO of Vale and Julia Dias Leite, CEO of the Brazilian Center for International Relations (CEBRi).

Sessions will address issues related to climate action, BRICS, energy transition, sustainable development, entrepreneurship and emerging technologies. Highlights include the ‘Council of Change Agents,’ focused on growth opportunities and economic prosperity, ‘How Investors Can Navigate Dynamic Markets?’ which will discuss investment strategies amid market volatility, and ‘The Future of Global Energy,’ presenting emerging energy technologies and projects. Other topics will cover global investment megatrends, the convergence of fintech and traditional finance and leadership in the rise of the global south.
