IHS Brazil and I-Systems announce strategic business integration to boost leadership as InfraCo

IHS Brazil, part of the IHS Holding Limited group (IHS Towers), one of the world’s largest independent owners, operators and developers of shared communications infrastructure by tower count, and I-Systems, a specialist in shared fiber optic networks, announce the unification of various internal functions and the consolidation of commercial, product management and customer relationship areas under one management team.

This move is part of an ongoing strategy to strengthen their commitment to becoming a leading InfraCo in the region.

Synergy and efficiency for growth

The companies have been working increasingly closely to develop convergent offerings that combine the capabilities of tower and fiber optic operations to enable 5G connectivity in the country. Since the launch of their first joint offerings at Futurecom 2023, the companies have been increasingly promoting team integration.

Various internal functions, including HR, supply chain, IT and more recently, legal and financial departments, are now unified for IHS Brazil and I-Systems. The integration process culminates with the consolidation of commercial, product management and customer relationship areas under a single management, led by Rafael Podestá, Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), IHS Latam, reporting directly to Farès Nassar, Head of IHS Latam.

Separate operations for better customer service

While integration efforts in various internal functions and revenue-generating areas aim to promote efficiency and enhance commercial opportunities, the technical and operational areas of each company remain separate, specialized and dedicated to delivering the best service to customers.

As a result of these changes Daniel Cardoso, CEO of I-Systems, will step down, and Fernando Barros, current CFO of I-Systems, will assume the role of CEO of I-Systems, reporting to Farès Nassar, Head of IHS Latam.

Fernando Barros, who has held his position since 2021, is well-positioned to lead fiber operations in Brazil and promote synergy between tower and fiber solutions.

Farès Nassar, Head of IHS Latam, said: “I believe this new organization is essential to support our leadership as an InfraCo in Latin America. The changes aim to optimize efficiency, promote synergy between tower and fiber businesses and serve clients with even greater excellence.”
