UL Solutions expands laboratory capacity in Mexico

UL Solutions has expanded its laboratory capacity in Mexico in response to the growing demand for product safety and performance testing from manufacturers in Latin America.

The expansion of UL Solutions’ laboratory in Mexico adds testing capabilities for products within the consumer technology, automotive and wire and cable sectors, expanding testing services to facilitate exports to the United States, Canada and throughout Latin America, while meeting local market needs. Consequently, the laboratory was designated as an associated laboratory by Volkswagen de México.

“Mexico is a relevant hub for manufacturing, a key trading partner of the United States and a very dynamic Latin American economy,” said Todd Denison, Executive Vice President of Global Regions, UL Solutions.

“The expansion of our capabilities in Mexico solidifies our readiness to provide customers with the science-based services they need to meet safety and performance testing and certification requirements for both local and export markets.”

The laboratory is located in Querétaro, about 220 kilometers (about 135 miles) northwest of Mexico City, and located in a thriving industrial region, with a solid manufacturing base, qualified labor and an important presence of the automotive industry.

“Mexico is one of the most important automotive markets in the world,” said Rodolfo Flores, Regional Director for Latin America, UL Solutions.

“That’s why we continue to invest in talent, expertise and custom equipment to deliver world-class testing to the automotive industry and its suppliers.”
