Cirion Technologies organized the 15th edition of the Cirion Forum 2024 in Ecuador.
With the slogan The Great Transformation: Driving change to accelerate a better future the event brought together leaders from the technology industry, academics and international experts to discuss new trends in AI, cybersecurity and digital transformation.
Francisco Guzmán, Country Manager, Cirion Ecuador, said the most important pillar for the proper use of AI is the human being.
The highlights of the event:
- The role of AI in digital infrastructure: Rodrigo Oliveira, Commercial Director LATAM of Data Centers at Cirion, highlighted how AI is creating new opportunities to improve the efficiency and sustainability of data centers, with applications ranging from image analysis to process automation.
- The future of the digital economy in Ecuador: Pablo Lucio Paredes, Director of the Institute of Economics at the Universidad San Francisco de Quito, shared a perspective on the country’s economic opportunities and how digital transformation can be a lever for sustainable growth.
- Platforms 4.0 and the human-machine relationship: Catalina Irurita, technology and marketing consultant and Daniela Espinoza, Co-founder of Kushki Fintech Advisor, agreed that digital transformation goes beyond the implementation of technology; it is a cultural change to generate efficiency and business productivity.
- Cultural and organizational transformation: Byron Amores, Corporate Manager of Talent and Culture at Grupo DANEC, underscored the need for a solid purpose in companies to face the changes of the digital era, highlighting that organizational cultures with clear direction achieve higher levels of innovation and adaptation.
- Risks and opportunities of AI in cybersecurity: Laura Ureta, Security Manager of Banco Bolivariano and Andrés Maldonado, General Manager of IBM Ecuador, analyzed the impact of AI on cybersecurity, emphasizing the importance of addressing privacy risks and cyberattacks through solid strategic frameworks.
Participants agreed that AI and digitalization represent an inevitable path to the future. However, they stressed that it is essential to prioritize ethics, privacy and sustainability in the use of these technologies to ensure a positive impact on society and companies.
The forum closed with a call for organizations to adopt more inclusive and sustainable technological practices, consolidating itself as a key space for reflection on the digital future in Latin America.
