Veeam Software, innovative provider of solutions that deliver availability for the data centre, recognised its high-performing channel partners that supported its growth in the Middle East. Veeam’s total bookings revenue rose by 52% in Q2 2014 as compared to Q2 2013. The awards was hosted on the side lines of the recently concluded GITEX Technology Week and is scheduled to become an annual affair.
Honouring one partner each in five categories, the inaugural awards’ criteria also included contributions to Veeam’s revenue streams as well as positioning the brand as an enterprise IT partner of choice through out-of-the-box and comprehensive marketing efforts.
2014 winners include:
• Best Enterprise partner – Alpha Data
• Best Small and Medium Business (SMB) partner – BurhanTec – Kuwait
• Best Enterprise Deal – Diyar, Saudi Arabia for the University of Dammam account
• Best Rising star partner – Exceed
• Best partner marketing event – Mannai (Veeam-Nutanix)
“Our channel partners have consistently met our expectations and helped expand Veeam’s footprint across the Middle East, becoming core to our operations and business success in the region. They are an extended arm of the Veeam family,” said Omar Akhtar, Regional Channel Manager – Middle East & SAARC, Veeam Software. “On our part, we feel it is important to recognize their contribution. The channel partners’ awards is one of the ways that we have devised to reward them. We thank each one of our partners for their hard work round the year and congratulate the winners for their excellent performance. We look forward to rewarding many more of our partners next year.”
“Working with Veeam has been a gratifying experience. Veeam delivers top-notch enterprise IT solutions that meet the comprehensive needs of our customers. The architecture is simple and eases our task in educating clients and closing deals. We look forward to further raising our contributions to Veaam’s revenue stream,” said Sajeev K. Perunnelly, Division Head – Enterprise Computing Systems, Alpha Data.
“We are very delighted to receive the Best SMB partner award from Veeam. We are probably the youngest Veeam partner in the region but we have developed the required skills and knowledge to be recognized as a high-performing partner,” Haider Ali Kutbuddin, General Manager, BurhanTec. “Upon commencing work with Veeam, we streamlined our solutions around Veeam architecture. While doing POCs some of the customers just couldn’t believe how simple and easy it was to use Veeam. As they say, it just works. We aim to convert more customers to Veeam sooner than later.”
Samer El Chayati, Branch Manager at EXCEED IT Services, 2014 winner of Veeam Best Rising star partner award, said: “This is our second year working with Veeam, which is one of the top vendors we like to work with. Veeam is innovative and active, partnering Veeam is like dancing with giants. We are proud to have been a part of Veeam’s success in the Gulf region, and in a short span of two years. Moving forward we want to make a significant contribution so that we are recognized as Veeam’s best performing partner. Our objective with Veeam is to have at least 30 to 40 per cent of our over 100-strong clientele customers within our territories including Oman, Pakistan, and Argentina, using Veeam as a backup and data recovery platform.”
As part of its efforts to support channel partners in achieving greater success, Veeam rolled out technical training and certification programs for its reseller ProPartners in Emerging Markets in September 2014. The course was designed to educate and certify partners and end-user engineers as Veeam Certified Engineers (VMCE), which establishes a level of expertise required to implement and configure Veeam software correctly and most effectively. The designation also verifies the engineer has the necessary knowledge and experience to be hired as a Veeam Expert.
Distribution partners of Veeam, Aptec – an Ingram Micro company was selected as Veeam’s Authorized Education Centers (VMAEC) delivered fee-based education courses with a curriculum developed by Veeam. Every class included both lecture and hands-on elements that allowed the students to learn about the technology and its configuration, and then experience the configuration in labs based on real-world customer scenarios.
