Ooredoo to further invest in Data Centre solutions in 2016

Ooredoo will invest in Data Centre Solutions in 2016, said the company. Ooredoo’s Data Centres have had the most successful year to date since the facilities’ launch, setting milestones such as the recertification of the prestigious Information Security Management System (ISMS), and the launch of several state-of-the-art solutions as the reason.

Currently, Ooredoo has five Data Centres in various locations across Qatar with a total space of around 60,000 square feet (sqft).

The Qatar Data Centre facilities have been designed in compliance with Tier-3 standards and provide local and regional organisations with a full range of services including Hosting and Co-location, Cloud Services, Web Content Delivery, Data Backup & Restoration, Managed Storage, Email and Web Security, Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery, IT Security and Infrastructure Monitoring and Management.

Yusuf Al Kubaisi, COO, Ooredoo Qatar, said: “We have seen in 2015 that the move to cloud and digital services is placing greater demands on companies and their resources, which is why we rolled-out more solutions than ever before, to make sure you get the most out of your IT investments, drive efficiencies and enable business agility.”

As part of its commitment to the Qatar National Vision 2030, Ooredoo has continued to invest in a national network of Data centres, providing an important foundation for innovation and development.

In 2015 Ooredoo launched its flagship next generation Data Centre -QDC5, which provides advanced co-location, intelligent infrastructure and enterprise cloud services, all managed from a world-class command control centre.

The facility has also partnered with Microsoft to launch the Azure platform, to provide agile and secure cloud-based services to local businesses.

The Qatar Data Centre was recently recertified with the new standard ISO 27001:2013 Information Security Management System (ISMS). This achievement demonstrated the company’s clear and stringent process for ensuring data security, integrity, compliance to international standards, and the ability to grow and expand alongside a company’s data management needs. Ooredoo supports a wide range of leading companies in Qatar, providing pioneering data centre technology supported by Ooredoo’s Supernet network.
