Professional Communication Corporation, Nedaa, a government corporation specialising in the deployment of wireless communications technologies for Dubai and the Northern Emirates, has been officially named as the provider of integrated wireless communications for Dubai Parks and Resorts.
Under the terms of the contract, Nedaa will procure all the necessary devices and equipment to install an advanced and flexible wireless communications system for the destination. This includes 1,000 Airbus wireless devices, a fully integrated Terrestrial Trunked Radio (TETRA) professional mobile radio network, and an internal communications network which will support connectivity within and outside the destination’s buildings.
Nedaa has revealed that the project will be carried out in collaboration with its technology partner, Esharah Etisalat Security Solutions, which will assign a team of engineers and technicians to provide full support and training on the new networks.
Dubai Parks and Resorts is expected to attract 6.7 million visits during its first full year of operation. The high projected footfall will require reliable coordination and collaboration among team members and between staff and the public throughout the property to ensure incident-free operations.
Prior to the destination’s opening, Nedaa will carry out a full maneuver-based testing procedure in order to assess the reliability of the pre-defined emergency communications plan. It will also evaluate the smooth flow of information and data in daily operations in order to ensure the public’s safety and offer visitors a safe and comfortable environment.
Commenting on the project, Mansoor Bu Osaiba, Deputy Chief Executive Officer from Nedaa said: “We always seek out cutting-edge wireless communications solutions for our clients in various sectors. Our new collaboration with Dubai Parks and Resorts is the latest accomplishment under this strategy, as we will provide the destination with the most advanced and reliable wireless technologies to provide seamless communications within the complex while facilitating links to competent authorities such as Dubai Police and the Directorate General of Civil Defence, Dubai, in order to maintain the highest safety and security standards within the resort.”
“Furthermore, the wireless communications station and equipment we will acquire for the project will guarantee smooth and reliable communications among resort staff during day-to-day operations, in line with our goal of delivering innovative solutions to optimise communications between the park’s mobile teams and stations,’’ Bu Osaiba added.
Dubai Parks and Resorts is located on Sheikh Zayed Road opposite the Palm Jebel Ali in Dubai. It is spread across 30.6 million square feet of land and includes three theme parks and one water park.
For her part, Aida Hamza, Vice President, Business Support from Dubai Parks and Resorts said: “A high-scale entertainment destination such as Dubai Parks and Resorts requires an advanced wireless communications network capable of fulfilling its communications needs both internally and externally. We selected Nedaa for their proven record in offering integrated solutions, and their ability to fulfill our requirements and meet our standards which are essential to providing unrivalled guest experiences.”
