Ooredoo Qatar leverages Microsoft AI to transform fan engagement

Ooredoo Qatar has announced the launch of a new Sports Conversational AI system, in partnership with Microsoft ‘Ooredoo Sports’, at the recently held Microsoft AI Summit.

Ooredoo Sports will transform fan engagement and many different sports events leveraging Microsoft Artificial Intelligence and Augmented Reality technologies.

Ooredoo Sports will go live in June 2019 supporting the participation of the Qatar National Team in Copa America. It will provide a full set of features through a unique Conversational AI experience where the fans will be able to engage and receive information for every game, favourite team and player.

Yousuf Abdulla Al-Kubaisi, Chief Operating Officer, Ooredoo, said: “We are highly aware of our subscribers’ increasing digital needs, seeking the most up-to-date technology and innovations, especially during major sporting events, such as Copa America and others.

“Ooredoo aims to provide a unique customer experience and to do this, we must be agile and prepared for transformation and development. Having a partner such as Microsoft on our side empowers us to stay ahead of the game with technology solutions and enables our customers across our global footprint to access and enjoy what the Internet has to offer in a way that is personal and unique to them.”

Lana Khalaf, Country General Manager, Microsoft Qatar, said: “Ooredoo’s effort in harnessing the power of AI and Augmented Reality reflects how digitisation can enhance fan engagement.”
