With a focus on driving innovation and high performance in demanding data environments, Western Digital Corporation, a leader in data infrastructure, has returned to GITEX Technology Week in Dubai to showcase its expansive range of storage solutions.

The company’s impressive portfolio on display will feature a wide range of innovations from its Western Digita extensive portfolio of enterprise storage solutions, all the way through to a massive 1TB* microSD Card from SanDisk.

According to one report, IT spending in the Middle East and North Africa region is estimated to reach US$160 Billion in 2019. This year on year growth is partially attributed to an increasing number of projects with technologies such as robotics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), augmented and virtual reality, and the Internet of Things (IoT) to spur innovation and boost customer experience. The resulting growth of data, and its strategic value potential, is driving the transformation of storage infrastructure like never before.

Western Digital’s lineup of offerings addresses these needs by delivering the increased capacity, high-performance, economics and cost-effective scalability required to protect, mobilise, transform and extract greater value from data.

Putting the spotlight on infrastructure that is ‘future-ready’, the company will showcase its Ultrastar family of storage servers and platforms for DIY and software-defined storage environments. In addition, the WD Purple drives on display, created to meet the increasing demands of smart video solutions, will highlight the benefits of storage with high capacity, intelligence and great durability for surveillance.

“In this rapidly changing, data-centric world, relentlessly driven by new technologies, environments, applications and use cases, the region’s decision makers must anticipate and implement solutions that enable and drive their future productivity and value creation capabilities,” said Khwaja Saifuddin, Senior Sales Director, Middle East at Western Digital Corporation.

“Our goal is to help them in this endeavour by managing their current complex storage challenges while also laying the foundation to more intelligently scale workloads for the future. With additions to our expanding portfolio, we are confident of unlocking new levels of performance for our customers.”

At GITEX 2019, the product showcase will also include the recently launched 1TB* SanDisk Extreme UHS-I microSD card with its impressive levels of capacity which allows for moving massive amounts of high-quality data while worrying less about space limitations or long transfer times.

Allowing gamers to optimise their game storage capacity, portability and accessibility, the company added the WD Black P10 gaming drive to its portfolio which will also be presented at the event.

These will be in addition to  other flagship products such as the SanDisk Extreme PRO portable SSD, that leverages lightning-fast, in-house NVMe technology to dramatically increase transfer speeds to up to 1050 MB/s.

Visitors will also see the SanDisk iXpand Flash Drive Go and the SanDisk Ultra USB Type-C flash drive for Android, for storage requirements on the go.
