Proofpoint to promote better protection of critical information at GITEX 2022

Proofpoint will aim to educate organisations on how to better protect their critical information at this year’s GITEX.

Emile Abou Saleh, Regional Director, Middle East and Africa at Proofpoint

“The week represents a cornerstone in the Middle East cybersecurity events calendar and a fantastic opportunity to educate partners, customers and prospects on the cyber-risks facing employees today,” said Emile Abou Saleh, Regional Director, Middle East and Africa at Proofpoint.

“We aim to educate organisations on how to better protect their critical information. Data doesn’t lose itself. People lose data – it doesn’t walk out of the door on its own. It’s either stolen by an external attacker via compromised credentials, lost due to a careless user, or taken by a malicious employee, often to a competitor.

“It’s important, now more than ever, to protect against insider threats, by ensuring organisations have the right technological controls in place, but also that they are focusing on how they can best educate their employees on today’s threat landscape and how to identify and action against such threats.

“In addition, we will be communicating to attendees that with the evaporation of the traditional network perimeter, the old way of protecting data doesn’t work; we need to up our game and adapt data loss prevention (DLP) and insider risk solutions to protect the modern edge – endpoint, cloud apps, email and the web.”

Proofpoint will be exhibiting in Hall 2, Stand D20.
