Cloudflare delivers all connectivity elements of Single-Vendor Secure Access Service Edge (SASE); Magic WAN Connector available to all

Cloudflare has formally announced that all connectivity elements of its single-vendor Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) platform, Cloudflare One, are now generally available. The company’s SASE offering tackles both cybersecurity and networking transformation needs without adding complexity, setting it apart in securing today’s hybrid workforce.

Organisations migrating to the cloud face challenges related to network complexity and the need to connect and secure distributed employees, devices, apps, and data centres. This needs to be done without compromising performance. Inflexible IT infrastructures lead to issues such as cybersecurity gaps from distributed users and personal devices. Such challenges pose significant risks to corporate data and drive up overall costs. Organisations are increasingly adopting single-vendor SASE platforms to address these issues. A report by Gartner states: “By 2026, 60% of new SD-WAN purchases will be part of a single-vendor SASE offering, up from 15% in 2023.”

Cloudflare One enables customers to implement SASE in a way that complements their existing deployments, whether these are native single-vendor setups with Cloudflare or through existing SD-WAN configurations. Cloudflare’s branch appliance, Magic WAN Connector, can either be pre-installed on hardware provided by TD SYNNEX, a leading global distributor in the IT ecosystem, or installed within an organisation’s existing infrastructure.

Technology leaders in enterprises are tasked with bringing together thousands of people, devices, clouds, systems, applications, and networks to support a new business imperative: Digital Transformation. Cloudflare’s branch appliance and Networking-as-a-Service are built natively on Cloudflare’s connectivity cloud, simplifying deployment and offering several benefits:

  • Network and security staff efficiency: Cloudflare One reduces the time required to connect users, locations, and devices by centralising policy management and global enforcement.
  • Security posture: Cloudflare One minimises the customer’s attack surface while reducing operational complexity via a unified dashboard.
  • Administrator and user experience: Built on its unified connectivity cloud, Cloudflare One significantly enhances performance for in-office, remote, or hybrid workers.
  • Control over IT environments: Cloudflare One gives IT leaders the ability to operate in domains previously beyond their control, by connecting any traffic source or destination and applying Zero Trust security policies.

“For over a decade, Cloudflare has been in the business of simplifying network security,” said Matthew Prince, Co-founder and CEO of Cloudflare: “Whether it’s securely connecting remote employees, offices, data centres, or even multi-cloud deployment, we empower IT teams with the means necessary to modernise their architecture. The general availability of Magic WAN Connector on Cloudflare One represents our ability to enable business productivity that is secure at speed, from one of the most comprehensive SASE solutions available today.”

“TD SYNNEX is committed to uniting IT solutions that deliver business outcomes today and unlock growth for the future,” said Jessica McDowell, Senior Vice President of Business Development and Security Strategy at TD SYNNEX: “With Cloudflare’s latest solution added to TD SYNNEX’s global portfolio, we’re able to further enrich the breadth and depth of our security offerings. This enables customers to tackle today’s critical security and networking transformation without adding complexity.”
