Red Hat has announced two new service offerings from Red Hat Training and Certification focused on improving IT professionals’ skills and expertise in Red Hat-distributed OpenStack clouds.
The two new service offerings include an IT engineer-level OpenStack certification, Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) in Red Hat OpenStack, and accompanying exam, Red Hat Certified Engineer in Red Hat OpenStack exam (EX310) as well as an IT engineer-level course, Red Hat OpenStack Administration III (CL310).
The RHCE in Red Hat OpenStack certification includes:
- Earned by passing the hands-on, performance-based EX310 exam and the RHCSA in Red Hat OpenStack exam (EX210).
- Demonstrates an IT professional’s ability to integrate Red Hat Ceph Storage with OpenStack key services and utilize OpenStack Neutron networking’s advanced features.
- Available around the world in a classroom setting or via Individual Exam Sessions.
Red Hat OpenStack Administration III (CL310) is a follow-on course to the popular Red Hat OpenStack Administration (CL210), which covers content for both OpenStack Administration I and II. CL310 is a four-day, lab intensive course. Training course details include:
- Focus on Red Hat Ceph Storage and Neutron networking
- Enables Senior OpenStack Administrators to extend a proof of concept or production pilot with a focus on cloud storage and networking
- Helps prepare candidates for the EX310 exam
- Available around the world via several ways to train
The new OpenStack Administration III course will be offered in traditional classroom, virtual classroom, and self-paced training via Red Hat Online Learning. Additionally, this new course is being offered through Red Hat’s recently launched Red Hat Learning Subscription, an annual subscription featuring unlimited access to Red Hat’s full portfolio of training content including a wide variety of OpenStack skills training. The learning subscription is designed to help customers accelerate the speed and ease of on-boarding new staff, the adoption of new OpenStack releases, and cross-training across multiple products in an on-demand setting.
In addition to the engineer-level offerings, Red Hat also introduced a Red Hat OpenStack Technical Overview (CL010) course. This free, 2-hour, online and on-demand course features a series of short videos to help customers better understand the technical basics of Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform. It also can be used as a preparatory course for CL210. The course is available for registration through Red Hat’s website.
“During the past 16 years, the Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) credential has set a global standard for engineer-level certifications on Linux, by providing a rigorous, performance-based exam that accurately represents an IT professional’s abilities. This new Red Hat Training and Certification offering aims to do the same for OpenStack at a time when demand for highly skilled OpenStack developers, engineers, and system administrators has soared,” said Randy Russell, Director, Certification, Red Hat.
“As our customers move through the product lifecycle from proof of concept to production they need a rigorous, hands-on, globally available curriculum to enable their OpenStack administrators to be successful. The new Red Hat OpenStack Administration III course extends proofs of concept by teaching administrators how to integrate Red Hat Ceph Storage with the key services of OpenStack and provide students with a more advanced understanding of Neutron networking,” said Pete Hnath, Director, Curriculum, Red Hat.
