Huawei highlights world-changing digital intelligence at Ai Everything x Restart Dubai Summer Conference

Huawei, a global provider of information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure and smart devices, participated at the ‘Ai Everything x Restart Dubai Summer Conference’, the first major conference held in the emirate as it returns to its full economic, social and tourism activities.

Taking part as one the exhibitors, the company has demonstrated its support for the reopening of Dubai’s economy.

The event celebrated the UAE’s aspirations and achievements in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI), which Huawei, as a subject expert, supports through its state-of-the-art technologies that help to accelerate intelligence. These were showcased during the Ai Everything x Restart Dubai Summer Conference, including Huawei’s AI ecosystem, AI Full Stack, All-Scenario portfolio, and cutting-edge AI computing products.

Li Shi, CEO, Huawei UAE, said: “Artificial Intelligence is the new force driving society and industrial transformation. It has proven its value to society more than ever before in the past few months, deployed in numerous forms to fight the spread of COVID-19. At the Ai Everything x Restart Dubai Summer Conference, Huawei has set the stage for how deploying AI solutions will form the bedrock of the digital world that can support countries in the Middle East to realise their Digital Transformation visions for public and private sector entities alike.”

Shi said Dubai steadily elevates its position as a global leader in the adoption of innovative and highly productive technologies such as AI, supporting the UAE strategy of ‘Building a Responsible AI Nation’ and Huawei is proud to support this vision.

“AI is the new general-purpose technology. There are clear signs that AI will trigger change in a whole host of industries. From energy to healthcare and transportation, AI will greatly boost automation in almost all aspects of organisations and governments. The future of AI is one we all will share. To bring the benefits of digital technology to more people, all countries need to work together across disciplines and industry sectors. Huawei is committed to working closely with our customers and partners to support our communities by delivering industry specific AI solutions, building new ecosystems together and nurturing local ICT talents, all of which will accelerate building a fully connected, intelligent, and digitally-enabled society across the Middle East,” added Shi.

According to Huawei, AI is the strongest driving force behind migrating industry applications to the cloud. The company said it has been researching AI chips and algorithms for years and is able to build a platform across devices, edges and the cloud, and provide a full-stack AI portfolio for all scenarios. Together with its partners around the world, Huawei Cloud is taking the intelligent transformation of the industry to a new level and making effective and reliable AI affordable.

Huawei’s AI portfolio comprises a comprehensive suite of solutions that can be combined to create customised solutions for any application. These include full-stack AI-enabled servers that offer unrivalled computing power for Digital Transformation.

Huawei estimates that in the coming five years, AI computing alone will account for more than 80% of computing power used around the world and earlier this year, Huawei announced it will invest US$ 1.5 billion over the next five years in creating a global AI ecosystem. The investment will be used to nurture one million AI developers and support 3,000 software development partners and 1,000 universities and research centres. The company will apply AI technologies to all its products, especially focusing on developing AI chips that will enable AI technologies.
