AccessData Group to split

AccessData Group to split

AccessData Group today announced the split of its industry businesses into two independent, global companies, AccessData and the newly formed Resolution1 Security. This new corporate structure will allow each company to capitalise on its unique business model by delivering deeper, more focused customer engagement and support.

The separation will afford each company the agility to move quickly and grow their distinct businesses. Each company will focus on its market dynamics and customer specific-needs while extending its technology leadership to transform the investigation and incident response (IR) markets, respectively. The company split will go into effect January 1, 2015.

AccessData

For more than 27 years, AccessData has been the clear market leader in forensics, ediscovery and legal review solutions for enterprises, law firms, government agencies and law enforcement organizations. The privately held company will continue to develop industry leading solutions, including FTK, MPE+ and Summation, to address the escalating challenges around big data, endpoint and mobile forensics, and the legal investigation and review process.

Tim Leehealey, AccessData’s current CEO and Chairman, will oversee AccessData’s strategic vision and business growth. He will serve as Chairman of the Board for both AccessData and Resolution1 Security. The company also announced the appointment of industry veteran Keith James as EVP of Global Sales and Marketing. The corporate headquarters are based in Lindon, Utah.

“AccessData has highly successful cybersecurity and investigations businesses,” said Tim Leehealey, Chairman and CEO of AccessData Group. “The rapidly changing security landscape accelerated our plans to separate the two companies and aggressively pursue opportunities to extend our industry leadership. The split enables each company with the focus, flexibility, independence, and resources to innovate and solve enterprises’ most vexing challenges.”

Resolution1 Security

The creation of Resolution1 Security comes as the industry is witnessing an unprecedented escalation of advanced cyberattacks and high profile retail and financial services breaches. Global companies are facing greater security risks and incident response challenges with the siloed, manual approach to IR simply unsustainable. AccessData anticipated this critical need seven years ago and accelerated its product development to design the industry’s first automated and integrated IR solution called the Resolution1 Platform. Since its introduction last year, the platform has gained traction for delivering rapid response of breach incidents with leading Fortune 500 companies representing retail, financial services, energy/oil and government industries.

“The cybersecurity market has reached a critical point and Resolution1 Security is at the forefront of defining the future of incident response, namely Continuous, Automated, Incident Resolution (CAIR™),” said Brian Karney, CEO of Resolution1 Security. “Our business has grown as has the interest and adoption by major companies and enterprises. The split comes at an optimal time for our company to realize its full potential and advance incident resolution for unsurpassed response speed, certainty and incident intelligence.”

Resolution1 Security is positioned to accelerate its growth, attract additional capital and broaden its strategic partnerships. The company announced its executive management team of respected industry leaders with Brian Karney, CEO, Craig Carpenter, President and COO, and Simon Whitburn, EVP Global Sales. The corporate headquarters will be located in Menlo Park, California, with global offices in UK, Germany, United Arab Emirates, Mexico, Singapore, and China.

AccessData Group customers and partners can be assured that the separation of companies will not impact their current accounts, support or services. Additional company information can be found at www.accessdata.com and www.resolution1security.com.
