Tarleton appoints Dr Zach Gorman as CIO

Zach Gorman has been named Tarleton State University CIO and Assistant Vice President for Information Technology Services.

Dr Gorman will guide Tarleton’s IT program, accountable for information management, computing, communications, infrastructure, service and support and applications operations.

He joins Tarleton after five years as CIO at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, where he championed data-driven decision-making and expanded research and academic programs.

“Dr Gorman’s experience will advance Tarleton’s IT infrastructure to support research, innovative technology and digital solutions for students and employees,” said Lori Beaty, Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration. “His commitment to exemplary service and innovation make him a perfect fit.” 

Prior to joining Bradley, Dr Gorman served as IT Director at Georgia Tech, Associate CIO at Augusta University and IT Manager at the University of Iowa.

“I look forward to working closely with Tarleton’s IT team to strengthen the university’s academic and research endeavors,” Dr Gorman said. “Everyone I’ve met has been so welcoming. I’m proud to be part of the Tarleton family and can’t wait to get started.”

Dr Gorman earned a Doctor of Education from Georgia Southern University, a master’s in organizational leadership from St. Ambrose University and a bachelor’s in management information systems from Iowa State University.
