WiGL – Wireless-electric Grid Local Air Networks – a developer of touchless wireless charging for IoT devices, says over-the-air (OTA) wireless power networks are no longer a thing of the future.
In partnership with the US Air Force’s AFWERX Small Business Innovation Research group and Tactical Financing (TACFI), WiGL has moved from an idea to products on shelves.
The transition to commercial products is pitched as the next step in the process of WiGL’s mission to transition DoD projects into consumer products.
Harnessing AFWERX’s touchless Wireless Power Transfer (tWPT) network development brings consumers the first in-home wireless network.
Having successfully executed on multiple contracts to develop OTA technology for the battlefield, WiGL intends to now educate the public on the value of OTA recharging.
WiGL CEO Dr. Ahmad Glover said: “The creation of the world’s very first OTA wireless power network has been a journey. Meeting and exceeding DoD and regulatory requirements has taken a lot of time, money and focus.
“I am super proud of the team. Our motto is focus and finish. Hats off to every WiGL’er – you did it.”
By partnering with pioneers in the wireless power industry, WiGL has emerged as the umbrella technology creating the future for smart, touchless, wireless power networks.
In transitioning new technologies developed for the DoD to commercial markets. WiGL is on a mission to use over-the-air targeted wireless power networks to help recharge the Internet of Things.
