Frontgrade opens DLA-certified manufacturing and servicing capabilities to outside customers

Frontgrade Technologies is extending access to its Colorado Springs manufacturing facility for third-party microelectronics.

The facility is certified by the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) to manufacture Qualified Manufacturers List (QML) Class Q, V, Y, and T microelectronic products per MIL-PRF-38535, ensuring high reliability.

Frontgrade is also offering access to its facility’s 5,100 square-foot cleanroom which is certified as Class 1000, the equivalent of ISO-6 classification, the fourth cleanest environment according to federal 209E standards. With the site’s additional classification of 1A ESD Control, sensitive electronics are protected from electrostatic discharge events with voltage ranges of 250 to less than 500 volts.

“Frontgrade has more than three decades of experience successfully delivering high-reliability microelectronics for aerospace, defense and industrial applications,” said Allen Couture, COO, Frontgrade.

“We’re offering customers a tremendous opportunity to leverage our company’s proven manufacturing capabilities and services to their own advantage.”

The facility is certified to handle and process sensitive material up to a Secret level and is also accredited as a Category 1A Trusted Supplier by the Defense Microelectronics Activity (DMEA) of the US Department of Defense.

DMEA Category 1A Trusted Supplier accreditation represents the highest level of trust and reliability in microelectronics manufacturing and validates Frontgrade’s dedication to meeting stringent security standards for the nation’s defense-related applications.

Offered services at Frontgrade’s Colorado Springs site include packaging, test qualification, wafer services, custom assembly and environmental testing.
